Ago Today – October 21, 1989
- In his last season at Kentucky, as the head coach, Jerry
Claiborne’s Wildcats hold on for a thrilling 27-21 win over LSU in Commonwealth
Stadium. Alfred Rawls rushes for a career high 192 yards including two
touchdown runs; one of 43 yards and another for 73 yards down the right
sideline. Billy Swanson intercepts LSU’s quarterback Tommy Hodson at the UK
20-yard line to help seal the Cats victory.
