In a remarkable turnaround, Newport Catholic rallies from a 17-point deficit with seven minutes left in the game to stun Danville 37-34 and repeat as the Class A State Champions. Thoroughbreds Quarterback Jarred Harris throws a touchdown pass to George Gardner with 6:58 to go in the game then after Newport Catholic recovers an onside kick Harris hits Gardner again, this time on a 16-yard score to cut the Admirals lead to 34-31 with 2:58 left. With 1:45 to go Harris tosses a screen pass to Michael Vicars who takes it 52-yards to cap off the amazing comeback victory for Newport Catholic.
