- The two teams combine for nine turnovers in a wild game
interrupted by a 74-minute delay due to lightning and torrential downpours as U
of L defeats UK 40-34 in OT at Papa John’s Stadium. Kentucky has the ball first
and goal on the 2-yard line with forty-seven seconds to go in regulation and
the score tied at 34. After two failed running attempts to get the ball in the
end zone, Brandon Sanders’ short field goal attempt to win the game is blocked
by Louisville’s Cory Burns. Tony Stallings runs in the only score of overtime
to give Louisville the victory.
