22 Years Ago Today –
April 7, 1995
- Charles Thomas of Harlan and Ukari Figgs of Scott County
are named Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball. Thomas scored over 3,300 points in
his high school career, led his team to two All “A” Kentucky State
Championships and was named Tournament MVP in both ’94 and ’95. Charles has
signed to play college basketball for Clem Haskins at the University of
Minnesota. Figgs scored over 2,500 points in her high school career and led
Scott County to the 1995 Kentucky State Championship where she earned the
tournament’s Most Valuable Player Award. Ukari has signed to play her college
basketball at Purdue University.
