- Scottie Pippen shuts down Tony Kukoc as Team USA defeats Croatia 102-71 at the Olympic Games in Atlanta to finish pool play with a 5-0 record. Mitch Richmond leads the Dream Team II with 16. Charles Barkley adds 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Americans and David Robinson tosses in 13 points. Kukoc says, “these twelve guys, after the Dream Team I, are the best team ever to play on a basketball floor.”
