90 Years Ago Today – March 22, 1930
Underdog Corinth HS, from Grant County, upsets heavily favored Kavanaugh HS, out of Lawrenceburg, KY, 22-20, to capture the Kentucky HS State Championship in front of 5,000 onlookers at Alumni Gym on the campus of the University of Kentucky. William Howard Jones makes the winning basket for Coach Teddy Hornback's club as other starters Roscoe Rogers, Dave and Frank Lawrence and Wilbur Odor all provide additional scoring support for the Braves stunning victory.
