Seventeen legends of Kentucky basketball will be honored tonight in Elizabethtown as the Kentucky Basketball Hall of Fame welcomes its Class of 2016.
Among the distinguished inductees are coaches: Billy Hicks of Scott County; Pearl Combs from Hindman; Donna Moir of Sacred Heart; Randy Napier, at Perry Central; and Stan Hardin who coached at Fairdale HS.
Also being celebrated tonight are some of Kentucky’s most memorable high school players. They include George Wilson who played at Lexington Dunbar; Jim Rose of Hazard; Ralph Richardson from Russell County; and Harry Todd of Earlington. Princeton's Dwight Smith, Sacred Heart’s Carly Ormerod, and Jeff Lamp of Ballard also join the Hall.
In addition Darrius Miller from Mason County, Tom Thacker of Covington Grant, Bobby Turner and Gene Rhodes of Louisville Male and Donnis Butcher of Meade Memorial—round out this year’s induction class.
